VINCENZO IAVICOLI
Design Consultant / Educational Strategist Professor of Product Design, College for Creative Studies, Detroit Founder and Design Creative Director for Iavicoli-Rossi Design Consultancy, Vincenzo Iavicoli has spent his career developing acclaimed products, interiors, and experiences for a worldwide clientele. Throughout his career, Vincenzo has worked in academia internationally. For thirteen years, he served as Department Chair of the Product Design Department at the College for Creative Studies (CCS) in Detroit, where he passionately teaches and explores practices to advance design education. Prior to CCS he has had the pleasure and honor of teaching in Japan at Tsukuba University and Tama Art University, Istituto Superiore Industrie Artistiche (ISIA) and Polimoda in Italy, Art Center College of Design in Switzerland (ACCD) and California. At ACCD he also served as Corporate Liaison, responsible for negotiating industry-sponsored studios and managing the projects. Iavicoli has and continues to conduct workshops, seminars and lectures in the United States, Europe, and Asia. In 2012, he received the Industrial Design Society of America (IDSA) Educational Award. In 2016, The Walking Office, a Wearable Computer he designed in 1984, was added to the permanent Design Collection of the Henry Ford Museum in Detroit. Iavicoli holds a Master of Science in Industrial Design from Art Center College of Design (1998) and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Industrial Design from ISIA, Firenze, Italy (1984).
